With this in mind, WebDeal has prepared a simple deployment plan to accompany all its Premium Shared TSM hosting services. The five-step deployment plan ensures that your business will be protected using the highest enterprise backup standards—simple and safe, with no inconveniences.

Step 1: Pre-decision

In the first step of the deployment process, WebDeal or one of its partners will identify your wishes and requirements in order to secure a successful backup strategy that you will be satisfied with. At this stage, the following aspects will be analyzed:

• Number of servers and amount of data to be backed up
• Which backup strategy is more suitable for your business and how to accomplish it
• Possible need for additional TSM plugins
• Most appropriate location for your TSM server
• Possible need for multiple backup locations

These five aspects will allow WebDeal or one of its partners to present a fully customized backup plan that will fit your business perfectly. The pre-decision step will be conducted by a systems architect who can give you valuable strategic and technical recommendations.

Step 2: Decision making

Based on the customized backup plan developed in the previous step, a contract will be drafted and signed. At this stage, you and WebDeal will have agreed on the following aspects:

• Final backup plan
• Final date for deployment
• WebDeal's technical contact person responsible for the deployment process
• Key people from your organization who will be involved in the deployment process

Step 3: Pre-deployment

WebDeal's system architect will contact you and walk you through the configuration process. Alternatively, this task may be performed by a previously assigned deployment partner.
The pre-deployment phase may differ greatly from case to case, but the following information will typically be collected:

• Which operating system the servers that will be backed up are running
• Paths to data that must be backed up
• Potential infrastructure bottlenecks
• Backup encryption policies
• Preferred backup schedule

Step 4: Deployment

At this stage, WebDeal will set up the server and configure your TSM accounts.
The technician responsible for setting up the TSM account will hand over information and instructions to the person in your company involved in the deployment process.

Step 5: Verification

As soon as the deployment of the new TSM clients is finalized, WebDeal's technician will assist you in your first full backup.
At this stage, WebDeal will make sure that:

• the backup is valid
• the data are encrypted correctly
• the expected compression rate is achieved
• the TSM license is registered correctly

After the first full backup cycle, WebDeal will confirm that everything ran smoothly and according to plan.
